Benefits of FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
How it Works
FUE, which stands for Follicular Unit Extraction, is an innovative technique that produces incredible results in both men and women. Through using this technique, we will be able to extract your hair follicles in their naturally occurring groups of one to three hairs instead of the alternative technique where an entire strip is surgically removed from your scalp. Through using this advanced technology, we are able to extract your follicles from the stronger areas of your scalp (also known as the donor site), and replace them where new growth is needed. This procedure results in much fuller, natural looking hair with no visible scarring. Because your scalp may be slightly tender after the procedure, we recommend that you take an anti inflammatory medicine (as prescribed by your doctor) to help with some of the tenderness.
Natural Looking Results
After receiving a FUE, the newly implanted hair starts to realize and work with the natural hair growth cycle. This is important because through this cycle, results will continue to improve each week as the implanted hair starts to grow with your natural hair. Through this process, you will reach full realization within 9-12 months after the completion of your procedure and achieve natural looking results through your natural hair growth cycle. We love this procedure because it helps our patients feel the confidence they deserve!
No Linear Scarring
During a FUE, we extract your hair follicles by using a tiny surgical punch. Since we are only taking tiny portions at a time, this leaves no scarring at all. You are free to cut your hair as short as you wish without the worry of a large linear scar showing.
The FUE Method is Safer
Because a follicular unit extraction is minimally invasive, it is much less likely to cause complications. This technique is much faster than the alternative so patients are able to leave our clinic much quicker and resume their day to day life in much less time. Because we use a tiny surgical punch, there is no need for a surgical incision which reduces the chance of complications or side effects in our patients. In addition, our doctors will screen you and ask an important list of questions to make sure you are a great candidate for this procedure.
The FUE Method is More Affordable
Because the alternative strip method often isn’t as successful following the first procedure, some patients need multiple treatments over time. The small surgical punch used during our FUE method is more precise and less likely to require future sessions. Since this is a minimally invasive procedure, our patients are able to get back to their daily life much faster and miss much less work while recovering. Because of this, we believe it makes our method the most efficient and therefore more cost-effective.
Minimum Down Time
FUE’s are optimal for both males and females because it is minimally invasive and won’t leave any visible scarring. This procedure has a fast recovery time as long as you follow your doctor's recommendations. Some of the following can also help speed up your recovery time: avoiding alcohol for 3 days after your procedure, waiting at least 24 hours after your procedure to wash your hair, avoiding running, jogging or cycling for at least 3 days post-procedure, and avoid using hot styling tools on your hair for at least a week. You should be back to your regular schedule within a matter of days.
High Patient Satisfaction
FUE’s can be performed on any hair type, on both men and women without any scarring or the need for stitches. Because this is such a minimally invasive procedure, it is done relatively quickly and patients are out of our clinic the same day and on the road to being fully healed within a week.
Almost all Patients are Candidates
FUE’s are an optimal choice for many of our patients because most people are great candidates for this procedure. There are many things that we take into consideration like your age, your lifestyle and the type and classification of your hair loss. These are all questions that we go over with you before moving forward with this incredible procedure.
